Explore Corps is delighted to announce a new partnership with The Peace Project, a student-led charity group that provides humanitarian effort for war ravaged communities around the world. What began three years ago as a high school project has blossomed into a global volunteer effort that undertakes fundraising for various peace initiatives and brings awareness of communities in conflict to the international student community. Goals of The Peace Project include:
• Spreading awareness about the impact of war in relation to health, poverty, and education
• Raising funds for sustainable development projects to help communities rebuild after war
•Partnering with grassroots organizations to increase efforts and local development in areas
The Peace Project has volunteered to undertake fundraising efforts on behalf of Explore Corps and our partners, Surfing 4 Peace and Gaza Surf Relief. These efforts are centered around donations and the sale of merchandise created by social entrepreneurs in communities impacted by war. They also sell merchandise created by The Peace Project team, the most popular of which is The Peace Project T-shirt, which you can see being worn at peace rallies around the world. Check out the t-shirt and other Peace Project merchandise here. You can see their Gaza Surf page here.
We would like to extend a special thank you to the Director of The Peace Project, Mohammed, Modarres, for his generous support and partnership. You can “meet” Mohammed here.
