Wetsuits Delivered as Winter Approaches
Saturday, October 24, 2009
As winter quickly approaches in the Eastern Mediterranean and the water begins to cool down, Explore Corps and Surfing 4 Peace are delighted to announce that the 12 wetsuits donated by Ralph Tieleman of Tofino, BC, Canada have been successfully delivered to the waiting surfers in Gaza. The Explore Corps team also delivered 5 more wetsuits donated by Ultrawave Surfboards in Israel, insuring that our friends in Gaza can all surf this winter.
All of this is possible because of the generosity of the S4P community:
Thanks to Jeff Green at Northern Boards Victoria for helping to put together the donation and to Grant Shilling for delivering the suits to Tel Aviv.
A big thank you is also due for Jimmy Eilat at Section Surf Shop in Tel Aviv for helping us to exchange a few suits for identical ones of different sizes, insuring that the surfers in Gaza get the sizes that they need. If you happen to be in Tel Aviv, be sure to stop by the shop and thank Jimmy for his enthusiastic support.
And thanks to Musa and the team at Ultrawave Surfboards in Hertzilia, Israel for their continued support of the S4P initiative.
Most of all, thanks again to Ralph, for his awesome donation to our friends in Gaza, who for the first time in the history of Gaza surfing, will be able to paddle out in the winter and take advantage of the big winter swells that grace our coast.
